How it works

componentCost = Σ(priceᵢ × qtyᵢ)
netSell       = sellPrice × (1 − fee%)
profit        = netSell − componentCost
margin %      = profit ÷ componentCost × 100

Materials are valued at market sell price — opportunity cost, not purchase price. The market fee default is an editable placeholder [VERIFY against the current fee schedule], per the methodology page.

FAQ

What counts as a component cost?

Everything the recipe consumes: materials at their market sell value (not what you paid — opportunity cost is what matters), plus any currency fee the workbench charges.

Why use market sell value for materials I already own?

If you craft with materials worth 5,000 and sell the output for 6,000, you only gained 1,000 — you could have sold the materials instead. Crafting profit is always measured against the components' market value.

Should I include workbench time?

For most recipes the queue is short enough to ignore. If a long craft blocks a more profitable one, subtract what that bench time would have earned — the profit number is per craft, so math it in manually.
